Belonging to a very old Iranian family, A. M. Badi’ (1915-1994), after university studies in Paris, Lausanne, Rome and Zurich, settled in Switzerland, where he devoted himself entirely to his work of historian and philosopher. Its literary, philosophical and scientific culture was immense; he read, with perfect mastery, the old and modern languages in which was expressed, from Atlantic to Indus, the essence of the spiritual adventure of humanity. It is enough to read one of its books to see that he avoided quoting the least source of second hand. This scientific scruple combined with an intellectual reasoning as daring as penetrating confers on its work an exceptional quality and an originality.
