The University of California, Irvine, School of Humanities seeks applicants at the associate or full professor rank for the Baskerville Professorship in the history of Iran and the Persianate world. Candidates should have an established record of publications and teaching, and an international reputation in the Persian Studies field. Periods of specialization are open, but research focus in pre-20th century history is preferred. The successful candidate should have broad expertise in Persian history and culture, will participate in the development of the Samuel M. Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture, and will teach in the History department’s undergraduate and graduate program.
An interest in working with the Department’s developing Middle Eastern program at the undergraduate and graduate level is required, and a strong interest in the department’s world history program is expected.
