International festival “Falak” opens in Dushanbe

The fourth International Festival Falak (فلک) opens today October 8, in Dushanbe. The opening is held in the capital park Bogi Iram (باغ ارم, Botanical Garden).
As the press secretary of Tajik ministry Tajikistan Mirzoali Olimov told Avesta News agency, besides the Tajik singers of Falak, the festival, which will continue till October 10, will also be attended by the art groups from Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan.
According to Olimov, in the framework of the symposium, the artists from Afghanistan visited Vahdat (وحدت) and Faizabad regions (فیض آباد), and the artists from Russia will perform a concert in Rudaki (رودکی) region.
«International Symposium held in the honour of the Falak Day, which is celebrated every year in the country on October 12, starting from 2004», concluded the representative of the Culture Ministry.
Falak is a genre of folk songs, which circulated heavily in the southern regions of Tajikistan.
