I’m a retired Software Engineer, originally from Scotland, now based in California, but doing a lot of travelling.
This is an occasional travel journal, written after the fact, based on notes I make while traveling. Countries I’ve visited recently include the fifteen former Soviet SSRs, the seven ‘stans, and a broad scattering of Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
For reasons that are unclear even to me, I now collect photographs of statues of Lenin and (more rarely) of Stalin. I have a few from commemorative statue parks or museums, but I mostly prefer capturing them “in the wild” where they are still simply a part of the everyday landscape.
Because of recurrent spam, I’ve disabled comments. If you want to reach me, send email to “author” at the site “thewanderingscot.com”.
