Aryan Revival in Tajikistan September 2006

Report By Dame Dr. Prof. Meher Master-Moos, President, Zoroastrian College

Monday 11 December 2006, by Meher MASTER-MOOS

Thousands of years ago in Ariyana Vaeja, Pourushasp and Doghdo, the parents of Asho Spitama Zarathushtra lived on the banks of a river, presently known as the Dargoh River, flowing through Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, where the birth of our Holy Paegamber Saheb took place. These are the ancient historical lands of Saka, Chorasmia, Soghdia, Balkh and Bactria, where the historical events recorded in our Avestan texts of Yashts and Vendidad and the Shahnameh of Firdausi, actually occurred during the Peshdadian and Kyanian dynasty epochs. To the North is the Syr Daria River, to the South the Amu Darya, and in between the mighty Zorovshon rolls its gold laden waters into the orchards of Central Asia.

In recent times during the past decade and a half, after the former USSR gave independence to its Republics, these lands are known by the names of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan lays claim to being the birthplace of Paegamber Saheb and Tajikistan as being the place where he passed away from planet Earth. As is stated in the Avesta, Asho Zarathushtra from his birthplace in the North (what later became Sogdia and Uzbekistan) walked southwards to Balkh and Bactria to the Kyanian Kingdom of Kai Vishtasp (what later became known as present day Tajikistan).

Modern Tajik people are proud that Zarathushtra FIRST taught his Divine Message to their ancestors, to the Court of King Vishtasp. They are proud of their ancient Kyani Tokhum. This fact was visible repeatedly throughout the Republic Celebrations during all the events and stadium parades which always commenced with the scene of Zarathushtra holding the holy fire.

Predictions

Asho Zarathushtra gave the power of prediction to the wise Jamasph the Vizier of the Court of King Vishtasp. Thousands of years ago, it is recorded in the book of Jamasphi what the stars foretold about the rise and fall of Civilisations, birth of holy persons from the then distant past to the present times and much beyond. In this book and also in the Buhman Yasht, the predictions are given about the birth of a spiritually high soul person, a Rainidar sahib, having the title SHAH BEHRAM VARZAVAND SAHEB, during the present Aquarian Age time period. The Holy Maghavs (Moghs as they are called in present Tajikistan) accurately predicted his birth would occur in the middle of the 20th century in India on the banks of the Narmada River of a Maghav father and a high level soul Zoroastrian mother. The predictions of the Abed Saheb-e Delaan of Demavand Kuh of the monastery of Firdaus, as informed in the second half of the 19th Century to late Ustad Saheb Behramshah Nowroji Shroff, are recorded in print in Gujerati language in the Parsi Avaz weekly during the first half of the 20th Century. All the predictions have come true.

According to the Divine Plan of Pak Dadaar AHURA MAZDA for the revival of the Ancient Avestan Cosmic Wisdom for the benefit of present day people on planet Earth during the present Aquarian Age, Shah Behram Varzavand Saheb has been working ceaselessly to transform the thinking patterns of people and the vibrations of the planet from darkness to light, from ignorance to awareness, from disobedience to obedience of the Divine Universal Natural Laws of AHURA MAZDA. After his period of spiritual training in Demavand Kuh and Chaechast Vaar, he is carrying out his work in public in many countries since 1981, working through many groups and organisations, many persons. The Zoroastrian College was established on planet Earth under his direct guidance, in order to enable him to carry out his work worldwide. Since January 2001 he is seated on his spiritual throne in Chaechast Vaar, and directing the work of the revival of the ancient faith in its original Aryana Vaeja homeland, through the Inner Government of the World, the Council of the Maghavs. In accordance with this direction the events are happening in these lands.

Carving Up of the Nations

In September 1991, the USSR formally dissolved, handing over independence to its many Republics. Just as the British Empire in India was divided by artificial boundaries and carved into the Republics of India, Pakistan, Ceylon, with bordering Kingdoms as Burma, Nepal, Sikkim, so too Russia carved its Empire recklessly disregarding the ancient cultural roots and bindings, dividing families, language and culture groups between artificially drawn boundaries. The wildly zigzagging boundaries between Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in this region have created perennial problems for road and train travellers for visas to cross artificial boundaries. These are the fabled lands of yore of the Great Silk Road built by the Achamenian Emperor Darius the Great, where silk merchants’ caravans with donkey packs carrying enormous loads passed visa-less from China to Rome. In the result, the Persian speaking Tajik people were carved up politically between the Republics of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The modern Uzbeks are more Islamic, speaking a Turkish based language; as contrasted with the Tajiks who are proud of their Ancient Aryan Ancestry and Persian language.

Tajikistan with a land area of 143,100 km² has a population of about six and a half million people, of whom roughly about half are of Ancient Aryan origin and the other half are the “invaders” — either Islamic from Turkish speaking peoples or Mongols from Chinese speaking peoples. The Taj (“Crown”) in the flag of Tajikistan has seven stars of the Haptoiring Constellation — the seven Ameshaspends.

Uzbekistan with an area of 447,400 km² has a population of about 25 million. The country has 12 states, symbolized by 12 stars in its flag. Depending on the state and people of the region, there are more Ancient Aryan origin Tajiks living in Uzbekistan than in Tajikistan itself. The Government of Uzbekistan encourages the teaching of Avesta as a school language for its municipal school children in Tashkent the capital city. Languages spoken by the people of the states such as Sogdian, Bactrian are also taught at the Institute of Oriental Languages Studies in Tashkent.

15 Years after Independence of Tajikistan

Once free, this small nation immediately set about reviving its ancient glorious Kyanian dynasty Aryan Avestan civilisation. Though crippled by economic poverty, the Government of Tajikistan celebrated its First Republic Anniversary by holding the First Avesta World Conference in Dushanbe in the Academy of Sciences after a thousand years in September 1992. In March 1992, the first delegation of high-level scholars, academicians and Members of Parliament visited India as guests of Zoroastrian College, and were warmly welcomed by the Delhi, Navsari, Pune, Dahnu, Baroda Parsee Anjumans, and in Bombay. The return Delegation visit of five Zoroastrians from India, one from Pakistan and two from London took place in September 1992 just before the outbreak of the civil war within Tajikistan, fostered by external World Powers, when brother killed brother. In December 1992, the Tajikistan Prime Minister brought his first official visit of Tajik Govt. to any foreign country — a planeload of Ministers and other high officials — to India. In his speech at the Indian Merchants Chamber in Bombay, he publicly stated: “I could have taken my first foreign delegation visit to any country in Europe or even USA. We came here to India because our Zoroastrian brothers and sisters live here.”

In 1994, despite the internal war, with UNESCO support, Tajikistan Govt. celebrated the One Thousand Years of the Tajik National Poet, Firdausi, and the Shahnameh. In the capital city of Dushanbe the main national library is named Firdausi Library, and it has several illustrated manuscripts of Shahnameh, and also manuscripts of Avestan books.

In 1996, as soon as Emomaly Rahmonov, the Man of Peace (who wrote in his own autobiography how deeply he was influenced by the teachings of Zarathushtra since his youth), was made President, Tajikistan celebrated its 5th Republic Anniversary by holding the 2nd World Avesta Conference through the Academy of Sciences. At the same time in deference to the half of the population having Islamic background, the Tajik Govt. celebrated the Anniversary of the poet Kamal-e Khujandi. Teaching of Avesta language and Aryan philosophy was introduced in schools.

In 2001 for the 10th Republic Anniversary Celebration President Emomaly Rahmonov selected the theme to celebrate 2700 years of Asho Zarathushtra. What a wonderful Conference at the Academy of Sciences in Dushanbe and even more wonderful Republic Day Parade in the old stadium in his hometown Kulab. The entire Life of Asho Zarathushtra was depicted in a stage production; and scenes were enacted from the Vendidad teachings at the stadium that all Tajik schoolchildren would be inspired to follow his teachings.

In 2002 President Emomaly Rahmonov marched into UNESCO office in Paris and demanded as Head of a Nation State that the year 2003 be declared worldwide by UNESCO as the year for celebration of 3000 years Revival of Zarathushtrian Culture and Civilisation. In deference to his request UNESCO so declared.

In September 2003, Govt of Tajikistan promptly followed this up by holding the biggest and best celebrations in the Hall of the Ministry of Culture Building in Dushanbe. Zoroastrian communities all over the world, from Singapore to USA, India to UK and Iran took the advantage of the UNESCO declaration to hold celebrations .I was present when he declared in his Republic Day Speech to the Nation that the 2006 Celebrations would be dedicated to Aryan Civilisation Revival. And it so happened.

In accordance with the Cosmic plan of Ahura Mazda and the work and direction of Shah Behram Varzavand Saheb, in 2002 January to June Prof Rustom K Fuzaylov of Khujand, a learned Zoroastrian professor from Tajikistan Technological University whose Navjote had been performed in Dushanbe in 2001 by the Iranian Mobed Jamshedi Kamran, came to Zoroastrian College in Mumbai to gain practical firsthand experience of living in the midst of the Zoroastrian families in India and to write the historic book of Khordeh Avesta in Russian Cyrillic script with Tajik Persian meanings and translation. The book was first released in Mumbai by the Consul General of Poland, in May 2002. It was second time officially released at the Conference in Dushanbe in September 2003 at the distinguished hands of. Mr. Abdujabor Rakhmonov now the Minister for Education. Vol. One of the book of Yashts was also released then.

2006 — The Present Scene: Making History

In accordance with the Cosmic Plan of AHURA MAZDA and the work of SHAH BEHRAM VARZAVAND SAHEB for spiritual upliftment of Aryiana Vaeja present time population. President Emomaly Rahmonov declared year 2006 as Year for Revival of Aryan Civilisation. Government of Tajikistan announced through Academy of Sciences the official Conference on this topic to be held on 7th September 2006 as part of the official 15th Anniversary celebrations. To support this Zoroastrian College was invited to bring its delegation to Tajikistan, by Madame Maisara Kolonova, President of Tajik Govt. My Impressions on Our Trip to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan bv Ervad Khushroo Fall Madan

I, Ervad Khushroo Fall Madon, was invited (along with our other Zoroastrian delegation — India — members headed by Prof. Dr. Meher Master-Moos) by the Govt. of Tajikistan for their 15th Republic Anniversary Celebrations for the Revival of ancient Aryan Civilization.

My main aim and purpose of going there as a mobed was to support the Zarathushtis living there by teaching them Zoroastrian culture, rituals, Avesta prayers, etc. and performing jashans and navjotes. Believe me, by the Grace of Dadar Ahurmazda, I am more than satisfied that I have fulfilled my aim.

When we started our trip, the very first thing impressed me in the plane from Delhi to Tashkent was an article I read on ZOROASTRIANISM IN UZBEKISTAN published in their “Inflight magazine”. What a wonderful coincidence and what a lovely and appropriate Zarathushti start of our journey.

While crossing the Oybek border to enter Tajikistan from Uzbekistan the funniest sight was a donkey cart, in 21st century carrying our luggage. The poor beast of burden was overloaded with our 27 bags, big and small, that had to be heaved through the road customs and security checkpost on the Uzbek side of the border. I could not stop laughing.

In Khujand, their Mayor’s office gave us a right royal welcome, as indeed did all the Mayors and Mayoresses in Aini, Istaravshan, Penjikant and Kulab also. The Khujand Mayor’s office sent a Govt. person to the border with a minibus to escort us and our baggage into Tajikistan. We stayed at the lovely countryside residence of a very good Zarthoshti Prof. Rustom Fuzaylov. We (I and. my co-mobed Ervad Framroze Mirza) performed in Khujand, a total of 17 navjotes, including the navjotes of three generations members of Prof. Rustom’s family. Another prominent navjote was of a great Zarthoshti architect Mr. Abdu Fatoh, who rightfully claims to be from athornan family and is a very religious person. He reads a lot of Avesta prayers daily from his book, printed in Tajik language and is of very high spiritual level. These two great Zarathushti families are contributing immensely to form a concrete ZARTHOSHTI ANJUMAN comprising of very eminent & elite Zarathushti persons, in Khujand.

We also consecrated the actual place, ground purification ceremony, (by performing afargan of ASPANDARMAD AMESHASPAND, etc.) where a FIRE TEMPLE (Atash Dadgah) will be enthroned shortly. It is a lovely place, located near a lake-side in a fruit-orchard garden of the biggest reddest pomegranate trees and greenery. This moment, my joy knew no bounds and I consider myself very lucky to have done such a wonderful work of our holy prophet Zarathushtra, and sincerely thank Him.

The scenes on the way from Khujand to Istarafshan and in Aini and Penjikant, etc. were fantastic-rivers, snow-peaked mountains, greenery, you name it and it was there. My colleagues who had earlier visited Switzerland and U.S.A. said that such beauty they saw here first time in their lives-breathtaking and marvellous and mountains scenery better than Switzerland.

The various excavation sites and many museums, libraries, historical monuments, etc. we visited all over Tajikistan, show distinctly that ZARATHUSTI RELIGION AND CULTURE STARTED HERE IN TAJIKISTAN AND PROVES BEYOND DOUBT THE ANCIENT ARYAN CIVILIZATION’S EXISTENCE. We were amazed to see the excavated ATASH KADEH SITES, DOKHMA SITES, astodans, kusti jantar, chatri, pav mahl alaats like havnim, lalo, Shahnameh manuscripts, etc. Wherever I went, I felt like I am visiting my old motherland and meeting my Zarathushti brothers and sisters who are extremely hospitable and living their lives in reality practising the true Zarathushtrian principles of Humata, Hukhta, Hvarashta i.e. “good thoughts”, “good words” and “good deeds” — they are very keen to revive the Zoroastrian culture and religion.

Another highlight of our visit was a jashan performed in the centre of Voroh village in high mountains at an approximate height of 23,000 feet, a unique Zoroastrian feat, We also met local Zoroastrians who are actually wearing sudreh and kusti in this village from ancient times- a great delight to watch such sincerity and dedication towards Zoroastrianism and its culture.

In Dushanbe, the four days Govt. Official programme for the 15th Republic Celebrations was out of this world absolutely marvellous. The symposium, President’s speech and the various cultural programmes, where over a thousand participants acted in concerts, were mind boggling, colourful and gorgeous- to be seen to be believed. The FIREWORKS were so beautiful that the delegates from U .S.A., Canada, Australia, France and other rich countries said that they had never seen something like this in their entire life times.

In their two Republic Day Parades in Dushanbe and Kulab, concerts the plays, ZARATHUSHTRA AND HIS LIFE HISTORY were very well enacted — a sight one can’t imagine — how happy we Zoroastrians from India were to see this with pride.

President of Tajikistan Mr. Emomaly Rahmonov is a very sincere, hardworking and practical person, who is very sincerely working towards the revival of ancient Aryan culture and civilization. He shook hands with us during the two grand banquets he hosted in honour of all the Foreign Guests and the Celebrations of the Republic Anniversary — a very heartening experience.

In Uzbekistan (Tashkent) also we could see the Zarathushti spirit, and saw and met a lot of good people rightfully claiming to be Zarathushtis. There, one Prof. Rustom Abdukamilov is working zealously to form a Zarathushtii Anjuman. He is also the Govt appointed teacher for Avesta and he also teaches A VEST A AND OUR OTHER ANCIENT LANGUAGES to over six hundred school-students in municipal school and students in various institutions as per the Govt. regulations — a proud moment for us — our delegation members realized that the people in different states in Uzbekistan like Bactria, Balkh, Sogdia, speak these as living languages as we here in India use Gujarati, Hindi Marathi etc. as state languages. These are living languages of living people and taught in the schools in Tashkent

We performed 28 navjotes in Tashkent of very prominent and elite Zarathushti persons who sincerely wanted to be properly initiated into the Zoroastrian religion and culture. We also performed Jashan on the very first day of our trip in the home of a Zarathushtrian lady. Not knowing about our visit of 24th August, some of the persons who were very sincere and keen to have their navjotes done spent a lot of money and time to go to the neighbouring country Kazakhstan on 8th August just to have their navjotes done by a visiting Iranian mobed from Sweden. When they came to know we were returning to Tashkent on 16-1 ih September they got together and arranged for 28 persons from their anjuman members to have their navjotes done. More persons wanted to have their navjotes done but it was not possible to do any more in the time available to us. We promised to do them on another visit.

Overall it was a very fruitful tour for me, and we have made a good beginning in our endeavour to revive the ancient Aryan civilization and Zarathushtrian religion and culture. Of course I will visit Tajikistan and Uzbekistan again and again to continue the good work of our HOLY PROPHET ZARA THUSHTRA. May Dadar Ahuramazda give us Zarathushtis strength and may this good religion spread all over the world.

Atha Jamyad Yatha Afrinami.

My Impressions about Our Trip to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan By Ervad Framroze Mirza

Madame Meher Master Moos,

I have received your message, I am sorry for the delay as I am too busy with my office and prayer work.

Regarding views of our trip to Tajikistan & Uzbekistan, it was a great experience to visit our ancestor birth place of our Zoroastrian religion. There we can see how ignorant we are in India about our religion. Most important is the Penjikent excavations which proves of our great heritage. There many things impressed me such as opening of Kulab Independence programme with appearance of Zarathushtra, and Jantar, Chatri, Havnimlalo, portraits of our Ameshaspends, Jamshed Kalan peaks at Voruh village fully with Homesali plants etc.

Most liking moment was welcome at Kulab and also the great hospitality shown by the people. According to me, their are lots of things awaiting for the revival of our culture in these countries.

Ervad Framroze S. Mirza

Please pay attention. In de section, Carving Up of the Nations has mentioned that the language of Uzbeks are some kind of Turkish. It is uncorrect, there is not exist such a language as Turkish. The Tuks in Turkey speak Mongolian language. As Australia has no Australian language and they speak English, so is in Turkey, Turks speak Mongolians. Thank you.

    Yours truly,
    Dr. Rad

It is a real pleasure to see Zoroastrianism being respected outside Iran. For 1400 years Zoroastrians had lived under persecution. Many Iranians are converting back to their old roots, outside Iran. But in Iran they are not allowed to. I would like to thank the Tajik people for what they have done. As a Zoroastrian Astrologer it is my greatest pleasure to read about this. Well done.

While I will not criticise Islam as a religion, I will say that the Arab nations and their people have no right to hinder a nation reverting to its ancient and most illustrious ways. Tajikistan has less in common with the Arab world than with the Iranians, and despite Iran being a Muslim nation today, the fact remains that it was Zoroastrian for a far longer period in its history. Zoroastrianism (and its cousin, Vedic Hinduism) are in need of revivals, and it is great to see that Tajikistan is obliging. The ancient Aryans (Greater Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, north India) should take note, for our hour has come.

    • what is so racist about the revival ? just as one is allowed (in fact, welcomed) to enter this faith (of arabian origin), one should also be allowed to leave it without any hindrance or harassment. be fair, not hypocritical.

    • How is revival the people’s original culture racist?? ISLAM was RACIST when it destroyed their whole identity and tried to force/replace it with a ARAB/ISLAMIC identity that they will accept because their own identity is not only ancient but rich! evil islam will make it’s way out of Iran, in fact Iran will be the first islamic country afetr Spain/ Portuguel to have an exodus of islam.
Already up to 50% have converted to Christianity and Zoroastrianism.
Islam is not worthy of the cultured Persians, who honour their females , unlike islam where a woman is worthless and is worth 1/2 a man.
I am an atheist , like many other’s in Iran, but believe in the principles of Zoroastrianism.
Good Deeds-Good Words and Good Thoughts.
Zoroastrianism is the true Persian religion, until islam was forced upon us via the sword, rape and pillaging.
