Anooshah GOLESORKHI

Anooshah Golesorkhi, a regular guest of leading opera companies throughout Europe, has performed the role of the High Priest of Dagon in Samson et Dalila with Opéra de Nice and Montreal Opera. His other European appearances include the Vienna State Opera (Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana), San Francisco Opera (title role in Arshak II), Deutsche Oper Berlin in the title roles of Rigoletto and Amonasro in Aida, Dusseldorf as the Count di Luna and Amonasro, Hamburg State Opera in the title role of Macbeth, Teatro Regio Torino as Sancho Panza in Don Quichotte, to name a few. He has also appeared in New York with the Opera Orchestra of New York as Michonnet in at Carnegie Hall and has been on the roster of the Metropolitan Opera for productions of Nabucco, Otello, and Sly.

Notable future engagements include a debut in Madrid in the title role of Simon Boccanegra, and return engagements at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Nabucco, Opera de Nice as Sancho Panza, Norwegian National Opera as Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera. Norway and the Opera Orchestra of New York as Ezio in Attila.

Other noteworthy appearances include the Ashkelon International Festival in Israel; Germont in La Traviata in Graz, Austria; the title role in Rigoletto in Goerlitz, Germany; Sofia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and at the Skopje Festival in Yugoslavia; Scarpia in Tosca in New Zealand and Skopje; Iago in Otello in Bergen, Norway; Barnaba in La Giaconda in St. Gallen, Switzerland; the title role in Nabucco in Bloemfontein, South Africa and in Macedonia; Amonasro in Aida for Opera Pacific in California, Germering, Germany, and at the Skopje Festival; Escamillo in Carmen in Bergen, Renato in Un ballo in Maschera in Macedonia, and di Luna in Il Trovatore in Skopje.

Mr. Golesorkhi has performed extensively in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and was featured as the “Cover Artist” of the prestigious German Opera magazine Orpheus.

A resident of Munich, Anooshah Golesorkhi is a native of southern California, where he received his bachelor’s degree in music composition as well as a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry from the University of San Diego, and San Diego State University, respectively.
